BIO

Michael Jackson is a lighting designer for theatre, dance, and performance. For Cardinal Stage Company he has designed ten productions including Baskerville, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, August: Osage County, Lord of the Flies, Underneath the Lintel and Next to Normal, among others. He has also designed 3 productions at the Indiana Repertory Theatre (The Cay, Romeo & Juliet and the world premiere of The Little Choo Choo That Thinks She Can). Other regional theatre designs including productions at the Phoenix Theatre in Indianapolis, the Florida Studio Theatre, the Little Theatre on the Square, and Crossroads Repertory Theatre. In Los Angeles he designed the 25th anniversary production of Robert Chesley's Jerker. New York Credits include productions at The Wild Project, Here Arts Center, Dixon Place, and P.S. 122.

Currently he teaches in the Department of Theater at Indiana State University, where he serves as Associate Professor, Lighting and Scenic Designer. Michael has served as Production Manager at Indiana State for more than ten years and as the Director of Production for the Crossroads Repertory Theatre since 2015. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Evansville and MFA in Lighting Design from NYU.
