Michael Jackson is Full Professor of Theatre Design and Production Manager at Indiana State University. He has designed scenery and/or lighting for Crossroads Repertory Theatre for 15 seasons, while also serving as Director of Production since 2015. Regional design credits include Julius Caesar (Indianapolis Shakespeare Company + Zach & Zack Productions); Romeo and Juliet, The Cay, The Little Choo-Choo That Thinks She Can (Indiana Repertory Theatre); August: Osage County, The Body (Phoenix Theatre); Next to Normal, Baskerville, To Kill a Mockingbird, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, among others (Cardinal Stage); and Beautiful: The Carole King Musical (scenic design, Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre).
His teaching and creative practice center on lighting and scenic design, theatre technology, and production management, with a strong emphasis on student-centered collaboration. He holds a B.S. in Theatre from the University of Evansville and an M.F.A. in Design from New York University.
