THEATRE CONSULTING

Drawing on previous experience in architectural lighting design and sales, I have consulted on the renovation of both theatre performances spaces for the Indiana State University Department of Theater.

INDIANA STATE UNIVERSITY - "NEW" THEATRE RIGGING AND LIGHTING RENOVATION PROJECT

Completed 2018. 


Served as pro bono lighting consultant for the rigging and lighting upgrade to the Black Box theater space. 


-Replaced 1970's era pipe grid with tension-wire system
-Replaced original Strand dimming system (including an original telephone patch-bay) with distributed dimming and relay-controlled 20-Amp circuits. 
-Upgraded conventional instrument inventory to LED including moving-lights
-Installed integrated architectural lighting control system 


Budget: Approximately $1M

INDIANA STATE UNIVERSITY - DREISER HALL AND THEATER RENOVATION

Currently under-construction.

Expected completion spring 2022. 

Served as pro bono Theater Consultant for all theater spaces and facilities in the Dreiser Hall gut-renovation/re-build. 


- Reimagined 150 seat Proscenium theatre with retractable seating system, all new rigging (including automated FOH positions and over-stage electrics), electrical infrastructure (entertainment controls and architectural lighting system), LED and automated theatrical lighting fixtures, HVAC, stage floor, traffic patterns and material handling capabilities (including stage lift). 
-Re-conceived gender-neutral dressing room suite
-New Technology/Performance Laboratory with pipe-grid and electrical infrastructure, soft-goods and mirrors
-New Scene Shop 
-New Costume Shop
-New Design Laboratory
-Theater Department Office Suite
-Glass Atrium Lobby Addition


Total Project Budget: Approximately $18M
